Money-Saving Tip- Don't Throw Away That Ketchup!

Tonight I came home and was craving some veggies. I had some fresh broccoli and cauliflower, but was really craving something to dip it in. I didn't really see anything that looked good...until I saw a small one-serving size cup of blue-cheese. Perfect.

Where did I get this tiny blue cheese dip? It was a leftover from a night out with some hot wings. I had brought home the extras, along with the extra container of dip.

Now, it might not sound like much, but just think of all the little packets of ketchup, dressing, soy sauce, and even utensils you get from take-out, doggie bags, or fast food.

I have a little container dedicated to non-perishable "extras." Right now it has some honey mustard sauce from Wendy's, some ketchup from Captain D's, some soy sauce and duck sauce from Chinese take out., among other things.

Since there's only me at my house, these little packets are perfect when I need just a little of something, AND I didn't even have to pay extra for them!

Not to mention the little utensil packets you get from some places, with all the little utensils, plus a napkin and salt and pepper. These are great for days when you need to pack a lunch.

So, next time you're about to throw those little packets away, stop for a sec and drop them in your "extras" container- you'll be glad you did!
